WHY DONATE TO SMS?

The unparalleled education students receive at Steamboat Mountain School would not be possible without generous donations from alumni, parents, faculty, trustees, and friends. We appreciate all they have given to make these schools the most incredible places for students to learn, grow, and thrive. Please join us today in supporting our students, faculty, and programs.

Are you an alum who is still using the time-management and creative problem-solving skills you learned at  Steamboat Mountain School in your everyday life, or are you heading off on new adventures because you developed the confidence to explore during camp trips and global studies? Are you a current or past parent who appreciates the extraordinary commitment, expertise, and passion of the faculty who create lasting memories with and have a transformative impact on your child? Do you realize the importance of every student, regardless of their financial background, having the opportunity to pursue an extraordinary education in an unique setting. No matter what your reason, we are grateful for any and all donations offered to us by alumni, parents, faculty, trustees, and friends. Your donations make it possible for us to upgrade facilities, fund tuition assistance, support our faculty, and create a better future for SMS.

Tuition Assistance Program

The value of a Steamboat Mountain School education is brought by our world-class faculty, low student-to-teacher ratios, experiential and project-based learning of all subjects, and global travel. We believe that these learning opportunities should not be limited by cost.

Steamboat Mountain School works with 150 students from kindergarten through 12th grade and we’re growing fast. Our innovative tuition assistance model allows us to evaluate each family’s financial circumstances and then determine their tuition at an appropriate level the family can afford.  This model continues to help Steamboat Mountain School grow our student body but more importantly increases the impact our unique curriculum has on the Steamboat Springs youth, our community, and beyond. Last year we awarded over $1 million to our families making our small, independent school accessible to students who otherwise would not have the financial capacity to attend.

We have pushed the boundaries of what a K-12 education can be while founded in the values presented by a small western town in the Rocky Mountains. We know we can keep moving forward with your help and look to you to consider making a philanthropic contribution to our Tuition Assistance Program.
