Director of Technology
Steamboat Mountain School seeks a collaborative, resourceful Director of Technology to lead technology across its two campuses. In our Mac-based and Google suite school, the Director ensures that technology supports excellent teaching, effective school operations, and a safe, connected residential community.
This role combines strategic leadership with daily, hands-on work. The Director will be equally comfortable developing a multiyear technology plan with corresponding budgets, troubleshooting a MacBook, helping a teacher evaluate a learning tool, and ensuring network operation. The successful candidate will bring technical depth, sound judgment, patience, and an understanding of the relationships that make a school community thrive.
K-12 SMS Teacher-in-Residence Program
SMS is a Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade independent school where vigorous academics, outdoor exploration, and a close-knit community create meaningful opportunities for students and educators to learn and grow. Our faculty design student-centered, inquiry-rich experiences that extend beyond the classroom into the mountains, our residential community, and global travel programs.
The SMS Teacher-in-Residence program provides hands-on preparation for independent school teaching through work across our K–12 academic and experiential programs and our boarding program for grades 9–12. Residents work with a faculty mentor, help lead outdoor programming, and support boarding students on campus. For this immediate opening, the appointment will begin on the agreed start date and continue through the remainder of the 2026–27 school year. Housing in the faculty dormitory is provided, along with meals in the Upper School dining hall when meal service is offered.
