Part or Full-time Middle School ELA and Social Studies Teacher
We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative part-time or full-time middle school English Language Arts and/or Social Studies for the 23-24 school year. The MS ELA/Social Studies teacher will report directly to the K-8 Director and will be responsible for developing curriculum, designing lessons, and engaging students in high-quality English and social studies learning. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience teaching humanities to middle school aged students. Candidates should be familiar with differentiated instruction so that each child has the opportunity to do work that is appropriately challenging.
Full-time Lower School Teacher
We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative full-time lower school teacher for the 23-24 school year. Primary responsibilities will be in planning and teaching project-based units and lessons that encompass both social studies and science content and themes. The LS teacher will report directly to the K-8 Director and will be responsible for developing curriculum, designing lessons, and engaging students in high-quality learning. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience teaching science, STEAM, social studies, and environmental education to elementary-aged students.
Full-time MS Science and Math Teacher
We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative middle school science and math teacher for the 23-24 school year. The MS Science/Math teacher will report directly to the Head of School and will be responsible for developing curriculum, designing lessons, and engaging students in high-quality science and math learning. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience teaching science, STEAM, and math to middle school aged students. Candidates should be familiar with differentiated instruction so that each child has the opportunity to do work that is appropriately challenging.
Full-time Spanish Teacher
We are seeking a skilled full-time Upper School Spanish teacher to join our team of faculty members beginning in August of 2023. Steamboat Mountain School’s Spanish classes afford students active learning opportunities to engage with the language through listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is expected that the classes be taught almost entirely in the target language if not entirely in the target language. The goal of the program is to foster confident, empathetic, and global learners who strive to engage genuinely with other people and the Spanish language. We are looking for candidates who have a professional educational background, Spanish language and content knowledge, and a passion for teaching and learning. Further, successful candidates ideally also possess familiarity with Understanding by Design curriculum and an interest in inquiry and discussion based education. Those with experience in outdoor education, travel programs, or residential schools are strongly encouraged to apply.
