Alayna (Lainey) has the great fortune to be a dual citizen of Australia, where she was born and raised, and the USA. After graduating with a Bachelor of Creative Arts and Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Wollongong, Australia, Lainey traveled with her husband working in schools, art galleries, and libraries in Colorado, North Carolina, New South Wales (Australia), and New Hampshire. A passionate interest in the cultural heritage sector – sharpened by travel in Europe, south-east Asia, the Pacific islands, and Africa – led to Lainey’s pursuit of a Master of Library Science degree with a focus on special collections and information fluidity across international borders.

Lainey feels the most fulfilled when she balances her free time between appreciating the outdoors (hiking, climbing, backcountry camping, and skiing) and regenerating with a good book, painting in her studio, discovering new music, or cloud-gazing with her kids. She was a residential head and a teacher of art and dance at the Steamboat Mountain School 10 years ago and is excited to be returning with her husband and two young children.
