After graduating with a Bachelor of Creative Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Wollongong, Australia, Lainey has worked in schools, art galleries, and libraries across Colorado, North Carolina, New South Wales (Australia), and New Hampshire. She enjoys exploring the connections between local and global art movements, the influence of culture and storytelling in art practice, and watching students find their creative voice.
Lainey primarily teaches Studio Art and Yearbook classes but is also involved in the Residential, POPs, Outdoor Education, and Global Studies programs. Her travels in Europe, Central America, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Africa inspired her to pursue a Master of Library Science degree, focusing on intangible cultural heritage, archives, and information fluidity across international borders.
Lainey feels most fulfilled when she balances her free time between appreciating the outdoors, relaxing with a good book, painting, discovering new music, connecting with friends and family, and helping her kids become good humans.
