Luisa Lombera joins the faculty as a part-time Upper School Spanish teacher, bringing a rich international background and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. A native Spanish speaker originally from Mexico City, she holds an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in Earth Systems and Engineering. Luisa’s diverse professional experience spans from co-founding a social enterprise in Latin America to her current role as a Climate Equity Associate with the Western Resilience Center. Her past teaching experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant at Stanford, and she is an active member of the Steamboat community, serving on the boards of Booktrails and Integrated Community. An avid outdoorswoman, she has completed NOLS courses in sailing and backcountry skiing and has coached for The Cycle Effect. Luisa loves any opportunity for bridging cultures, especially between her Latin American roots and her Steamboat community – including her local husband (an SMS alum) and kids  – 4th and 5th generation Steamboaters, respectively.
