Lizzy teaches purposefully to foster excitement in students about learning as a means to develop their own interests and abilities. Her teaching ignites creativity and growth, leading students to feel proud. Lizzy believes that from shared experiences, support and community, a child can dare to take academic and emotional risks that result in demonstrable growth and a love of learning. Formerly a teacher at Soda Creek Elementary School, Lizzy enjoys the freedom to develop cross-curricular and investigatory projects. Lizzy says, “my classroom is a family. My first priority everyday is that students feel safe and supported to take academic risks in my class.” As an established member of the Steamboat Springs community, Lizzy is excited to join the SMS family!
