Kate grew up in Wilton, Connecticut and attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Bowdoin nurtured her passions for languages and literary study, and she graduated magna cum laude in 2022 with a double-major in English and Hispanic Studies and a minor in German. While at Bowdoin, she captained the rowing team and worked in the Office of Gender Violence Prevention and Education. Kate spent six months in Buenos Aires, Argentina taking classes, playing soccer on a local team, and training for the Buenos Aires Marathon. She then spent time in Asheville, North Carolina, where she worked as a rowing coach and fell in love with trail running. Kate wrote her undergraduate thesis on feminism in Latin American literature and enjoys bringing a lens of power, equity, and difference to the Spanish classroom. She is excited to explore the ultimate outdoor playground of the Rocky Mountains and to become a part of the SMS community.
