Anabel Cull joins Steamboat Mountain School as a Teacher in Residence, bringing a passion for experiential learning, outdoor leadership, and history education. She is a recent graduate of Pitzer College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in History while pursuing research focused on music, race, and urban history. Throughout college, Anabel combined her academic interests with hands-on teaching experience, serving as a teaching assistant, curriculum designer, and facilitator of human-centered design workshops that emphasized collaboration and creative problem-solving. She has also worked as a UX designer and contributed to educational programming both in the United States and abroad. Beyond the classroom, Anabel has extensive experience mentoring young people through outdoor education. As a longtime mountain guide for Post 58, a Portland-based youth mountaineering organization, she has led backpacking and climbing expeditions while helping students develop leadership, resilience, and technical outdoor skills.
