Matt Lehmann was a driven environmental science major at Denison University ‘25, recognized for his leadership, research, and commitment to community. A recipient of multiple academic fellowships and scholarships, Matt has conducted fieldwork in the Andes and the Himalayas, presenting his research at national geoscience conferences. His hands-on scientific experience includes paleoaltimetry studies in Argentina to understand mountain evolution through time and lichenometry in Nepal to date glacial recession. At Denison, he served as a Senior Docent in the office of admissions, conducting interviews and giving tours to prospective students. In his free time he founded the Club Baseball team, overseeing budgets, recruitment, and logistics. This past summer Matt competed in Ironman 70.3 Maine, finishing in 6:00.29. He will continue to train to break six hours next summer at Ironman 70.3 Boulder. With strong communication skills, global experience, and a passion for science education, Matt aims to empower future learners and make science more accessible through teaching and mentorship.
