Corrine Moodyshe/her
Upper School Math
University of Notre Dame, BS
Being a “math nerd,” Corrine is about all things math and logic. She has taken a circuitous route to the Steamboat Mountain School and is excited to be here.
Corrine played trumpet for four years with the Band of the Fighting Irish and in her spare time earned a mathematics degree in the honors track at the University of Notre Dame. Corrine began her career as a consulting actuary focusing on retirement benefits. She earned her Enrolled Actuary certification and her Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries. She worked in Chicago, New York and Minneapolis before choosing to work remotely from the mountains. She ran the math team program at two local public schools for many years and tutored math to anyone who asked for help. After 20 plus years as a consultant, she took a year off to spend time with her family. One year turned into two, which turned into three which turned into COVID. During her hiatus from consulting, Corrine realized her true calling is spreading her love of math to students and that teaching is going to be her second career.
When not at school you can find Corrine spending time with her husband and four children, hiking, working through the NYT crossword, and skiing when that’s what her family makes her do.
