Andrew Pontbriand is a dynamic educator, STEM specialist, and endurance athlete with a passion for academic growth and personal resilience. Andrew graduated summa cum laude from Colorado College with a B.A. in Geology and a minor in Chemistry, and has since expanded his expertise through continuing education in computer science and psychology. He also recently received a data science certificate from the University of San Francisco. As founder of Shift Tutoring, he has delivered over 1,600 hours of individualized instruction to support academic growth, confidence, and mastery. With an emphasis on cultivating strong literacy and writing skills, Andrew equips his students to deeply engage with the humanities while building executive functioning skills that will prepare them for life. His professional journey also includes leadership roles in learning support coordination, academic consulting, and environmental fieldwork. A published researcher in geochemistry and seasoned ultramarathon runner with multiple podium finishes, Andrew brings the same commitment and grit to teaching as he does to the trail. He’s driven by a deep belief in the power of personalized learning and data-informed decision-making.
