Boarding Community

March 16 Boarding students have returned home and should check emails regarding distance learning and healthy and safe habits. We currently plan to reopen campus on May 3rd, but we will keep our community updated as the situation unfolds.

Day Students

March 16  Day students will not come to school this week but should check emails from their teachers about finishing their schoolwork. Campus is currently closed. If a day student needs to  come up to campus this week to collect books, belongings, etc. that they will need in the coming weeks, he or she should make an appointment by calling the on-duty phone.

Academic Program

March 16 All faculty have been in touch with the students in their classes, so the students should have work to complete, videos to watch, and Zoom classes to check in with on Thursday (3/19) and Friday (3/20). We plan to have an advisory meeting on Wednesday (3/18) to make sure students can access and connect to Zoom. We will send out instructions to help students be prepared for those meetings. We also want to check in with the students to see how they are doing.

March 14  Finishing Schoolwork: Faculty will provide their students with information about finishing next week’s coursework through recorded classes, independent assignments, and other remote learning options. Teachers will support students in learning the material and check-in with students about their progress. Our goal is to provide our students with continuity as they finish their work.

Skiers and Riders

March 16 See email Mrs. Wither and continue to get caught up on school work and prepare for distance learning over intersession.

Global Studies

March 14 With President Trump declaring a National State of Emergency over the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of each state’s approach to the spread of the virus, we cannot offer international or domestic trips for our Global Studies students this year. We are committed to offering engaging educational content in remote learning settings for all of our students. We will send a letter to students and parents detailing our offerings for global students during the four weeks from April 6th until May 1st.

Employee Remote Work

March 16 Teaching faculty and administrators are working remotely during meetings this week as we participate in professional development surrounding teaching methods for a distance learning environment.

Social Distancing and Travel

March 16 Colorado Governor Polis announced that effective immediately all dine-in restaurants and bars, gyms, theaters, and casinos in Colorado are mandated to close for the next 30 days. Today, President Trump recommended that no one attend gatherings of more than 10 people. As a school, we urge families to join us in making socially responsible choices and following all local, state, and national guidelines.

Please check the list of resources below for best practices for social distancing.

Current travel recommendations focus on canceling all non-essential travel, and if travel beyond your county is necessary, self-isolating upon return for a 14-day period.
