Greetings from the land of imagination! Our 4th-grade class is embarking on an exciting literary adventure. Students are thrilled to be diving into the enchanting world of “Bridge to Terabithia” by Katherine Paterson. They will not just be reading the book but rather transforming their classroom into the magical realm of Terabithia itself!

Last week, students took the time to create the sprawling trees, secret hideouts, and  magic rope swing of Terabithia right here in Room 4. The power of imagination combined with the details of their creations suggests that a mythical creature or two might wander out into the halls.

The adventure has even begun to show up in their recess games. Our 4th graders have been channeling their inner Jess and Leslie by organizing running races fit for the champions of Terabithia. It’s been a whirlwind of fun to watch them race through the field, just like our beloved characters in the book.

Families should not be surprised if these tales of bravery and friendship become regular parts of the dinner conversation. I encourage you to join in the excitement by discussing the book with your child at home and perhaps even sharing your own childhood adventures of make-believe. After all, the magic of Terabithia knows no bounds, and the more, the merrier!
